Born in the city of Paracambi, Rio de Janeiro, Lucas is the son of Silvana Freitas da Silva and Júlio Moreira do Carmo, and the brother of Joyce Freitas do Carmo. Influenced by friends, at the age of 9, he began to create his first rhymes at school, even singing in a church choir; he composed his first song at the age of 11. He began his career as a rapper at the age of 14, where he became known by the stage name Lucas LuzIIN, standing out for the strong sentimentality of his songs, poetry in his verses, and the diversity of his repertoire.

In 2014, Lucas participated in some of his first rap battles and adopted a more underground and aggressive style in his rhymes, choosing to use another name in his battles, which according to him, brought much more expressiveness and characteristics of his aggressive and realistic verses. During an interview, Lucas explained the reason for not abandoning the name Lucas LuzIIN and also using his alias from the battles, LC Maddog, as his stage name. According to the artist, Lucas LuzIIN represents a much more emotional and sentimental part of his personality, expressing the emotional side of the artist, while LC Maddog represents the duality of his personality and expresses a much more rational and aggressive version, with realistic lyrics and full of lyrical and intelligent metaphors to address various themes, something that has become characteristic of Maddog’s songs, as well as having a much more direct aesthetic, without giving up the versatility and poetry characteristic of LuzIIN. According to Lucas, both Lucas LuzIIN and LC Maddog represent two characters created by his creative mind to expose his poetic and philosophical ideas through music, bringing different themes to the fore in his songs. LuzIIN being the romantic and poetic guy, and Maddog the realistic and discontented guy, thus expressing his duality and allowing Lucas Freitas to venture into various musical genres, styles without losing the essence and focus of the surface of the subject and the message he wishes to address in his songs.
